| VidPro Research group: interests and projects |
Welcome! VidPro is a research group working on novel algorithms and systems in video processing & its applications.
Current & former students
Research interests:
- Video quality enhancement: video noise estimation, video noise reduction, video quality assessment
- Video object segmentation
- Video object tracking
- Video object detection
- Human pose estimation
- Motion estimation
- Applications:TV systems, Postproduction, Video Surveillance, Mobile Video, Web Video, AR, Visual Fine Arts.
Research focus:
Video processing techniques are studied in relation to their application.
Components of a video processing systems cannot be optimized independent of each other.
Video processing techniques are thus studied with emphasis to end-to-end assessment and integration into a layered system.
Particularly interested in accurate but fast algorithms.
Selected research topics
- Combining video quality measures for robust quality assessment
- Artificial Immune Systems to Video Processing
- AIS Data augmentation
- Global motion estimation and compensation for object segmentation.
- Global illumination change detection and compensation for object segmentation.
- Object segmentation in the presence of global changes.
- Object segmentation in compressed video.
- Human pose estimation.
- Object tracking.
