Research field: Digital Video Processing

Video quality enhancement (e.g., noise & artifact reduction), video analysis, & video interpretation.
Enabling techniques, e.g., motion estimation, noise estimation, video object segmentation, & object tracking.

Focus:

Video processing techniques are studied in relation to their implementation (e.g. time constraints) and application.
Components of a video processing systems cannot be optimized independent of each other. Video processing techniques are thus studied with emphasis to end-to-end assessment and integration into a layered system.
Efficient techniques are designed and developed to facilitate applications.
Particularly interested in real-time video processing and video object segmentation.

Applications:

(Visual) Fine Arts, Video Surveillance, TV-Systems, Web Video.
