• Midterm (on Chapters 1-4):

  • The exam material covers the first FOUR chapters; chapter 5 is NOT included.
  • You are allowed to bring one (two-sided) crib sheet. The crib sheet is to be used for formulae only, i.e., no examples, no solutions, etc. Bring a simple calculator; programmable calculators are not allowed.
  • A review lecture will be held during the class before the exam; at least one question from each of the first four chapters will be solved. Your tutor will also give a review to the midterm during the last tutorial before the exam.
• Exam on sampling (on Chapter 7):
  • Section U: Tuesday, November 18, 2008 (in class)
  • Section W: Wednesday, November 19, 2008 (in class)
  • The exam on sampling will cover sections 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3. However, subsection 7.1.2 is NOT included.
  • The exam will be for 35 minutes.
  • 1/2 page crib sheet is allowed.
  • Sample exams: Fall 2005, Fall 2007.

  • You are allowed to bring two crib sheets (4 sides). Similar to the midterm case, you are allowed to include formulas on the crib sheets, i.e., no examples, definistions, etc.

  • The exam is comprehensive, including the part on sampling (i.e., sections 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3. subsection 7.1.2 is NOT included).
