- Asim J. Al-Khalili, received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Systems Engineering from the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications, Strathclyde University, Glasgow, Scotland, in1970 and 1974 respectively.
- He has previously worked with GEC-Elliot Automation,England, (1974-75), Parsons Brown International,Lebanon(1975) and PLANAR(1976-80),Iraq, as System Engineer and a Consultant. His main duties was the design of computer control processes
- From 1975 to 1980 he was a Senior lecturer and Associate Chair of Dept. of Control and Systems Engineering at the University of Technology, Baghdad, Iraq.
- In 1980 he worked for one year as a research fellow at Strathclyde University on signal processing for off-shore oil rigs.
- In 1981 he joined Concordia as an Associate Professor, where he currently, is a Professor of Computer Engineering.
- Dr. Al-Khalili's research area is Computer Engineering/VLSI. He has published extensively in this area and other related areas.
- His current research interests include ASIC Design, VLSI architecture, VLSI circuits, VLSI Design Automation,Digital Design and Synthesis.
- Dr. Al-Khalili is a Fellow of IEE, Member of PEO and a Chartered Engineer.
