Workshop A: Web-wide Indexing/
Semantic Header or Cover Page

Co-Chairs: Bipin C. Desai, Brian Pinkerton

The workshop is over:

The proceedings can be downloaded from here

The workshop will be a forum to discuss resource discovery on the Web( WWW95 in Darmstadt.) The objective is to talk about the problems with the current resource discovery mechanisms and the ways in which we might cooperate to improve them. For a more complete description of the workshop, see the official description.

Time and Format

The workshop takes place between 9:30 and 13:00 on Monday, April 10 in Room 47/051 (Audimax Building). We have not decided on a format for the workshop yet. Our scheduled time of 3.5 hours does not allow for many individual presentations, so we will try to spend most of the time in discussion. With that in mind, please read as many of the position papers as you can; it will help to get everyone familiar with the issues. Also have a look at the points we try to discuss in the summary.

Participants and Position Papers

The following participants have submitted material to the workshop. I have tried to fit this all into an acceptable online format; feel free to send me better HTML if you want. If your position paper is not referenced here, or if you want to update what's here, send it along!

Communication

A mailing list is available for the participants to share information on workshop-related issues. To mail all workshop participants, email web_indexing@haole.cs.washington.edu. If you have any administrative questions, contact the conference chairs directly: Bipin Desai and Brian Pinkerton.
