Scope

The objective of the workshop is to bring together researchers from the academic and the industrial worlds for an exchange on the future of optical networks. The presentations will focus on the theory and application of optimization and simulation tools to the design and management of optical networks, in particular the linking of optical network resources to data traffic patterns in order to meet the needs of network growth and service provisioning.

Call for Papers

In addition to the tutorial conferences, we welcome submissions on research topics of the workshop. Authors interested in presenting their research results should contact one of the workshop organizers and send an abstract.

Program

The goal of the OON scientific program is to promote discussions on the latest information and results in the field of the optimization of fiber optic networks and related technologies. We welcome presentations from industry as well as from academia.

Student Poster Session

As it is not possible to invite all interested students to give a talk, we plan to have a student poster session to be held during the two day workshop. All interested students are therefore invited to submit a title and an abstract for the student poster session by e-mail to one of the organizers. All submitted titles and abstracts will be included in the workshop program, and space will be provided to all registered students. We strongly urge all graduate students who plan to attend the workshop to participate in this poster session as it is an opportunity for them to discuss their work with other students and researchers attending the workshop.
