Welcome Letter

Dear Fellow Engineering and Computer Science Graduate Students,

We, in ECSGA are very pleased to welcome you to graduate studies in the faculty of Engineering and Computer Science here at the Concordia University. As a graduate student at the Concordia University, you are automatically a member of the ECSGA, and it is our hope that this letter will give you a better idea of how the ECSGA can help you during your studies at the Concordia University.

The association is here to help provide all graduate students with the services they need, to represent them in decision-making on faculty of Engineering and Computer Science issues of concern to graduate students and to organize social events that will help them balance the demanding lifestyle of a graduate student with fun and entertainment. We are confident that ECSGA can either answer any questions you may have regarding graduate studies at faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, or direct you to the people who can help you.

The ECSGA was founded as a non-profit organization in 1985. Our office is located in the first floor (001.169) of the Engineering and Visual art (EV) building, which can be found on the St. Catherine street.

The ECSGA has two governing bodies: the execute and council each of which has a specific role to play in the running of our association. The execute help oversee the operation of the organization. Council concentrate on decision which impacts the political and social issues of graduate student at faculty of Engineering and Computer Science. All engineering and computer science students are eligible and encouraged to run for position within the association while pursuing their graduate degree at the University.

In addition to planning events for students directly, the ECSGA also offers sponsorship to engineering and computer science students for academic, social and informational events throughout the year.
