Research Projects

1. Web Services for Telecommunications

This project focuses on the research issues related to the use of Web services for service engineering in telecommunication networks. It looks into key issues such as the middleware required for the implementation of Web services in telecommunication networks, and the security framework required for their usage. It also makes performance measurements in order to categorize the classes of applications for which they are suitable.

2. Service architectures for beyond 3G networks

The weaknesses of the 3G service architectures are now known. They are network centric, rely on the client/server paradigm and are context unaware. Work has also been initiated in forums such as the wireless world research forum (WWRF) for the specification of post-3G service architecture.  This project deals with the challenges associated to post -3G service architectures. It looks into issues such as peer-to-peer application networks, personnel agent, context management, and sensors.
