Winter 2023: Frequently Asked Questions

Under incremental construction.

The course is full, what can I do to get into the course?
If the course is full, then you can join the waiting list.
If the waiting list is full, then you can wait. Maybe someone will DNE.
There is nothing else you can do.

I am missing a pre-requisite for COMP 333. Can I still do the course?
No. Each of the pre-requisites is important in order for you to be prepared for the course.

I do not know Python. Will I be able to do the course?
Yes. You should have enough programming experience from the pre-requisites to be able to learn Python yourself from the resources and lab sessions provided for the course.

Must I attend lectures and labs?
Yes. This is an in-person course where attendance at all lectures and labs is required.
See Classroom Health and Safety for health-related exceptions for attendance.

Can I attend any lab? No. You must attend the lab section GA, GB for which you are registered. You cannot attend any other lab section.

Must I wear a mask in lectures and labs?
No, but it is recommended: Classroom Health and Safety

Why are you not using Moodle?
In normal course delivery, I never use Moodle because I find I have more control by constructing my own web site for a course.
I do plan to use Moodle for any timed quizzes this semester for COMP 333.
