The fundamental mechanisms of the HAM transport have not be completely identified and modeled. Such as hygroscope contact.
There is a lack of material properties for using HAM models. The current collection of data are not systematic and not sufficient.
The computer model are not fully validated, and the use of the computer models requires highly trained experts, not ready for general use.
Full scale experiments are lacking. Experiments on envelope components other than the flat sections/panels (such as connection, corner) are lacking. [Dated 2000]
