Abstract:
An intelligent vapor-barrier film that allows insulation in housing construction to breathe has been developed by Germany's Fraunhofer Institute and commercialized by Grunzweig + Hartman (Ludwigshafen, Germany) and BASF. The nylon membrane, called Difunorm Variois, is said to have 10-fold higher permeability than polyethylene films.
