Abstract:
The paper describes exact influence of moisture content in the structure and the variation of heat gain factor (HGF) of the building. The changes in comfort level:due to humidity and moisture content have been discussed with examples. Two indexes have been described with its numerical value and thermal comfort conditions. Results show that the increase in HGF is remarkable for lower moisture content by volume (1 to 3 per cent) in building components, whereas for higher moisture contents, the rise in HGF and thermal transmittance value are only marginal. Measures have been suggested to make indoor climate comfortable.
