Abstract:
AK STEEL announced plans for the nation's first antimicrobial home, to be constructed outside Los Angeles. The home is expected to feature AK Steel's carbon and stainless products coated with AgION technologies' antimicrobial compound which reduces the growth of bacteria, mold and fungus. The steel construction is beneficial for a site attacked with wild fires, earthquakes and mud-slides. The other amenities in the home includes a stainless steel spa and swimming pool, an AgION-coated central air and heating system and a 6000-bottle wine cellar. AK Steel's concept home is supposed to be a tangible example of advanced cleanliness in the home.
