This article is about how to create a page from scratch
Before we create a page from scratch, we need to understand the namespace in MediaWiki (our beloved wiki software). Namespace is placed before the page title and it is aimed to group the pages. In this very page, you can see that the title is Help:How to create a page which is under namespace Help. We have custom namespace for our own wiki; TMG. If you want to share a news, you should create the page with namespace TMG.
Important
- Never try to duplicate a page by just adding numbers at the end of it. i.e. Life is good (2). Instead try to edit the existing page Life is good.
- If you need to create another page with another content but same title then you can add an identifying keyword in bracelets. i.e. Football(ball) and Football(soccer) ref. Wikipedia
Create
You can do this in different ways but the cutest way to do that,
- Write down the page title in the search bar, if you want to put it under a namespace Namespace:Page Title.
- If a page with the same title was not created before, you will see "Create the page ..." statement, then simply click on the link.
- It will take you to a page, which is currently empty and ready to be created. Click on "Create" at the right-hand side.
