Postdoctoral Fellows

Somayeh Kianpisheh, Ph.D.


Somayeh Kianpisheh received her B.S. degree in software computer engineering from University of Tehran, Iran in 2004. She got her M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer engineering from Tarbiat Modares University, Iran in 2010 and 2016, respectively. Her research interests include distributed systems particularly resource allocation and performance modeling in 5G, Clouds, Internet of Things (IoT), and Content Driven Networks (CDN). She has published several papers in the international journals and conferences, and performed reviews for several international journals.


PhD Students

Vahid Maleki Raee


Vahid holds the Master's degree in Computer Science, majoring in Computer System and Network in 2015 and the Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciene in 2012 both from University of Malay
(UM), Malaysia.
He started his Ph.D. as part of the IoT team in 2016. His work covers Virtualization, Internet of Things and Cloud Computing

Seyedeh Negar Afrasiabi


Negar is currently a Ph.D. researcher in Information System Engineering from Concordia University. She received her Master in Information Technology Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran Iran in 2015. Her research interests are Cloud computing, Internet of Thing (IOT), virtualization and machine learning.

Master Students

Farinaz Rasouli


Farinaz is a Master student in Computer Science at Concordia University, Canada. She received her Bachelor in Computer Software Engineering in Iran and her first Master in MBA-IT from Multimedia University in Malaysia and Sharif University of Technology- International Campus, Iran. She has an experience of five years teaching and doing research at Azad University, Iran. Her research interests are, Cloud Computing, Networking, Content Delivery Networks, Educational and Environmental Business fields.

Fereshteh ebrahimnezhad


Fereshteh received her Bachelors in Information Technology Engineering from University of Tehran, Iran in 2015. She is working towards her masters degree in Computer Science at Concordia University, Canada. Her current research interests are IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Content Delivery Network (CDN), Cloud Computing and IoT.


Carla Mouradian


She received her Bachelor’s degree (telecommunication Engineering) from University of Aleppo, Syria in 2009, and obtained her Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Concordia University, Canada in 2014. She also got her Ph.D. degree in Information System Engineering at Concordia University in 2018. Her research interests include cloud computing, virtualization, and Internet of Things.

Diala Naboulsi, Ph.D.


Diala Naboulsi obtained the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from INSA Lyon, France in 2015. As part of a double degree program, she received in 2012 the M.S. degree in Computer Science from INSA Lyon, France and the M.Eng. degree in Telecommunications from the Lebanese University, Lebanon. She has been a visiting Ph.D. student at the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2013. Her research interests cover a variety of aspects in the areas of Cellular Networks, Data Analysis, Vehicular Networks, and Content Delivery Networks. She currently serves as a reviewer for several international journals and conferences.

Nazmul Alam

Mohammad Nazmul Alam holds the BSc degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), in 2010. He started his working in Advanced R&D team and later moved to Solution Lab in Samsung Research Institute, Bangladesh (SRBD). In 2016 he enrolled into MSc in Computer Science in Concordia to pursue higher education. His work will be covering Cloud Computing, IoT and ICN.

Fatima Ronda

Fatima Zahra Errounda holds a BSc degree in software engineering from Faculte des Sciences et Techniques Hassan II in 2002. She worked for 9 years with C++. She joined the ETS Lab in 2012 for her MSc in Software engineering, she graduated in December 2014. Her work covered Cloud Computing and IoT.


Imran Khan


Imran Khan holds a BS degree in Computer Science from COMSATS Institute of IT, Pakistan and a MS degree in Multimedia and Communication from M.A. Jinnah University, Pakistan. He was member of Center of Research in Networks and Telecom (CoReNeT) from 2008 to 2010 and worked on projects funded by French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Internet Society (ISOC), USA. Currently he is a Ph.D. research student at Institut Mines-Télécom, Télécom SudParis jointly with Paris VI (UPMC). He is also a collaborating researcher at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada working on a CISCO funded project with Prof. Glitho. He is student member of IEEE and has also contributed to the IETF standardization. His research interests are Internet of Things (IoT), virtualization, cloud computing, service engineering, and wireless sensor networks.

Jagruti Sahoo, Ph.D.

Jagruti Sahoo received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Central University, Taiwan in January 2013. She worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Sherbrooke, Canada from 2013 to 2014. She joined Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering, Concordia University as a Post-doctoral Fellow in February 2015. Her research interests include Internet of Things, content delivery networks, Network Functions Virtualization and Software Defined Networking.

Rifat Jafrin


Rifat Jafrin received her bachelor degree (2010) in Computer Science from Military Institute of Science & Technology (MIST), Bangladesh. She completed her MBA degree (2013) in Management Information System from Dhaka University, Bangladesh. She worked as a Senior Executive at Getco Telecom, Bangladesh. She started her Master degree in Computer Science from Concordia University from 2014. She is working in the CISCO project and her research interests are Cloud Computing, Wireless Sensor Network, Semantic Web, and Virtualization.

Sami Yangui, Ph.D.


He holds a Ph.D (2014) in Computer Science from Institut Mines-Telecom, Telecom SudParis, France and an M.Sc. (2010) in Computer Science from the University of Tunis-ELManar, Tunisia. His research interests include Cloud Computing, Service-Oriented Computing and Internet of Things, Content Delivery Networks, and Network Function Virtualization. He is member of several Technical and Organization Program Committees and Reviewer for several international conferences, journals and magazines.

Peyman TalebiFard, Ph.D.


Peyman completed his PhD and MASc in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2014 and 2009. He obtained his BEng at Carleton University in 2006 with high distinction. Scope of his research includes design and analysis of architectures, protocols, and management for wireless and mobile communication systems. He has held research positions at Ericsson Canada, Huawei USA and Mobidia Inc. Canada.

Deepak Aggarwal


Deepak Kumar Aggarwal holds an B.Tech (2013) in Electronics and Communication from the DAVIET, India and he got his MASc. from Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering(ECE) at Concordia University, Canada. He has worked in Samsung Research Lab, India and in Defence R&D Organization(DRDO), India as a trainee.
