Research interests:

• Video quality enhancement (e.g., noise & artifact reduction), video analysis, & video interpretation.
• Enabling techniques, e.g., motion estimation, noise estimation, video object segmentation, & object tracking.
• Research focus:
  • Video processing techniques are studied in relation to their implementation (e.g. time constraints) and application.
  • Components of a video processing systems cannot be optimized independent of each other. Video processing techniques are thus studied with emphasis to end-to-end assessment and integration into a layered system.
  • Particularly interested in real-time video systems (e.g., video surveillance) and video object segmentation.
