"CLOUD Cup" Contest
2013 IEEE International "CLOUD Cup" Contest will be held on July 1st, 2013.
2013 IEEE International Contest on Cloud Computing (CLOUD Cup) will be the 8th episode of the series of contest. The contest opens to talented students (Students Group) and industry practitioners (Professionals Group).
The contest focuses on using the techniques of services computing, big data, mobile services, social networks, and cloud computing to solve real world problems, and to promote education of related techniques at undergraduate and graduate level. The real world application is chosen by the participants, ranging from business intelligence to social software, from algorithms to developing software engineering toolkits.
The finalists will be invited to 2013 IEEE World Congress on Services (SERVICES 2013) in Silicon Valley, USA for on-site contest. The papers of the finalists will be published in the proceedings of the 2013 IEEE World Congress on Services (SERVICES 2013) which is collected and indexed in IEEE Digital Library. IEEE Computer Society will provide partial travel awards to the top teams entering in the final list.
CLOUD Cup 2013 will be co-sponsored by SAP. As community support, SAP will provide free access to In-Memory database SAP HANA as an optional platform for CLOUD Cup participants to develop innovative applications oriented to real-time big data analytics over the Cloud. Note that SAP HANA platform is not required for CLOUD Cup participants; nevertheless, if a team is interested to leveraging SAP HANA technology to build their applications, SAP is going to provide free access for the team to a dedicated HANA platform on the cloud. Detailed information about obtaining the SAP HANA sponsorship can be found in a later section.
Important Dates:
HANA sponsorship proposal deadline: 3/1/2013
Paper/Demo submission deadline: 4/1/2013
Contest notification deadline: 4/15/2013
Camera-ready paper submission deadline: 5/1/2013
SAP HANA Co-Sponsorship for CLOUD Cup
As community support, SAP will provide free SAP HANA access to CLOUD Cup participants as an optional computing platform to leverage to build their innovative applications. To obtain SAP HANA access, a team shall send an email by 3/1/2013 to "services.ieeecs@gmail.com" with an abstract proposal, explaining the idea of how SAP HANA will be used in the project. SAP is going to contact the team separately with detailed access information and instructions of how to access SAP HANA instance. To get more details about SAP HANA, try the test drives, and check SAP HANA use cases, please visit the website: www.saphana.com.
As a leading commercial In-Memory database, SAP HANA is a completely re-imagined platform for real-time computing. It streamlines transactions, analytics, planning, predictive, sentiment data processing on a single in-memory database so computation can operate in real-time.
