This Technical Notes deals with the prescriptive design of brick veneer with wood frame construction in buildings limited to three stories in height in new construction. The properties of the brick veneer/wood stud system are described, which lead to design considerations. Selection of materials, construction details, and workmanship techniques are included. The minimum requirements given have proven successful for this type of wall construction. |
