On September 10th, 2019 the Master’s thesis defense was conducted by Gina Cody School of Engineering and Computer Science at Concordia university. Leila Abdollahi Vayghan defended her thesis titled “Kubernetes as an Availability Manager for Microservices Based Applications“. In this work, Kubernetes was evaluated from the perspective of managing the availability of microservice-based applications. The results showed that the support that Kubernetes has for stateful microservice-based applications does not guarantee the service availability for all failure scenarios. Therefore, a solution was proposed which consists of a controller for Kubernetes that improve/enables the availability of stateful applications deployed by Kubernetes. This thesis will be available¬† within a few weeks at SPECTRUM.

Congratulations, Leila!
