Arvind Chandrasekaran completed his M.A.Sc in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Concordia University in 2006. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from University of Madras, India, in 2003. His main area of research is Synthesis of Micro Total Analysis Systems on Silicon-on-Insulator Platform. His other research interests include Microfluidics, Integrated Microphotonics, Biophotonics, Lasing. He has authored 7 publications in Journals and has rendered as many presentations in national and international level conferences.
image Roozbeh Ahmadi completed his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 from Tabriz University, Iran, and his M.Sc. degree in Mechatronics Engineering in 2006 from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST), Tehran, Iran. His research interests include MEMS for biomedical applications such as robotics surgery as well as haptic systems and teletaction for Minimal Invasive Surgery (MIS).
image Mohammed Kamal completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Manufacturing Management in 2007 from Sheridan College, Brampton, Ontario. He obtained his Masters in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in 2005 from Dublin City University (DCU), Dublin, Ireland, and completed his B. Sc in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering in 2001 from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is currently working on the development of a MEMS based OCT system for high speed, high resolution, in-vivo imaging for cancer cell or tumor diagnosis.
image Stefan Stoenescu received his M. Eng in Aerospace Engineering from McGill University in Montréal, Canada, in 1998 and his B. Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering from the Polytechnic University in Bucharest, Romania. He is currently working on developing an optically sensing nanostructure of enhanced sensitivity, based on interaction of surface plasmons of metallic nanoparticles.
image Carlos Agudelo received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2001 from the National University, Columbia, and his M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2008 from the École Polytechnique de Montréal, Canada. Previously he was a Research Assistant with Andes University, Bogotá, Columbia, and with the Technological University of Cartagena, Columbia. He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree on the influence of electric fields on cell growth. His research interests include BioMEMS, control systems, and software development.
image Amir Sanati Nezhad received his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology in 2006. He completed his M.Sc degree in Mechatronics in Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic), Iran, in 2009. He is currently working on a Lab-on-a-chip (LOC) for biodetection of plant cells growth in a microfluidic chip. His research interest includes microfluidics, biology and biophotonics.
image Mahmood Ghanbari received his B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), Iran, in 2006 and his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2009 from Tarbiat Modares University (TMU), Iran. He is a PhD Candidate at the Optical-Bio Microsystems Laboratory, Concordia University, Canada since 2009. His PhD Thesis involves the development of a Lab-on-a-Chip (LOC) for Biodetection. His research interests include Microfluidics, Microphotonics, Biophotonics and Micro Sensors and Actuators.
image Jayan Ozhikandathil received his AMIE(I) degree in Electronics and communication engineering in 2002 from the Institute of engineers, and his M.Tech degree in Optoelectronics and laser technology from the International School of Photonics, Cochin University of Science and Technology, India. He is currently a Ph.D. student in Mechanical Engineering Concordia university. He is currently working on the development of Optical Micro Total Analysis systems on Silica-on-silicon and polymer platforms.
image Hamid SadAbadi received his B.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering in 2005 from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, and his M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from K.N. Toosi University of Technology, in Tehran, Iran in 2008. He is currently a PhD candidate under supervision of Prof. Muthukumaran Packirisamy and co-supervisor Dr. Rolf Wuthrich. He is currently working on nano-integrated micro-platforms for Bio Applications.
