Help for Using HFSS

I managed to short circuit the OS test for hfss, you can try running
it on login.encs.

I checked the HFSS site. If you go to
http://www.ansoft.com/products/hf/hfss/
they have a link on the left hand side for "Supported operating systems".
For linux they only have 64bit versions of their software while they  
have 32bit and 64bit for windows.

The HFSS website is

They support 64 bit Linux

From a linux terminal or remote desktop, log in to computation.encs

ssh -X computation.encs

and type "hfss" on the command line. More generally,

Make sure you're not using /tmp or $HOME for big jobs.
You can have up to 100 GB of temporary disk space on /scratch
The files are automatically deleted after a week.
