Magnesium, Aluminium alloys development for automotive applications: Mg-Ca-Zn; Al-Ca-Zn; Mg-Ca-Zn-Y; Mg-Ca-(Y,Nd); Mg-Zn-Zr; Mg-Al-Sr-Nd.
Mg-based metallic glass development for biocompatible materials.
Develop direct laser deposition for a repair of engine components from Ni-based superalloys: Inconel 718, Waspaloy.
Experimental determination of phase diagrams, equilibria and phase relationships.
Computational thermodynamics.
Crystallography.
Diffusion analysis and calculation.
Characterization: SEM/EDS, EPMA/WDS, XRD, DSC, EBSD, TEM, Electrical Resistance.
Manufacturing process: Laser cladding, Additive manufacturing (3D printing), Friction Stir Welding and Processing (FSW/P), Die Casting, Injection mould casting, Melt spinning, Arc melting, Induction melting.
Mechanical properties tests: Hardness, Room and elevated temperature tension, Creep, smooth and notch rupture tension, Fatigue.
