Biography

I am an associate professor at the Department of Mechanican Engineering of Concordia University.I received my Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology in 1994 and my Master's degree in Design and Manufacturing Engineering in 1996 from University of Jordan. I arrived to Canada in 1998 to do my Ph.D. at the Materials Engineering Department of McGill University which I finished in 2001. I stayed one more year in the same department as a Post Doctoral Fellow. I joined Concordia University in 2002 as an assistant professor.

Research

My research efforts fit into two primary focus areas: (1) thermodynamics of materials; and (2) the development and characterization of novel materials. In my research I use thermodynamic modeling and experimental investigation of the phase equilibria as means to understand existing materials and to develop new ones.
