Concept:
Standards: ASHRAE
"ASHRAE, founded in 1894, is an international organization of 55,000 persons. Its sole objective is to advance through research, standards writing, publishing and continuing education the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration to serve the evolving needs of the public."
Issued by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), the ASHRAE/IES 90.1 Energy Efficient Design of New Buildings Except Low-Rise Residential Buildings is the well established source for building code and industry standards in commercial construction. ASHRAE 90.2 Energy Efficient Design of New Low-Rise Residential Buildings is a recent competitor to the Model Energy Code in the field of residential construction.
- ASHRAE-American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers
- "the sole purpose of advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration for the public's benefit through research, standards writing, continuing education and publications."
- ASTM
- "provides a global forum for the development and publication of voluntary consensus standards for materials, products, systems, and services"
