Abstract:
Managing Major Repairs is a process manual, not a technical manual. It is not intended to replace the expertise of professionals involved in a major repair project. Instead, the intent is to explain how to manage the process and how to work with the participants during a major repair project. The procedure outlined in this manual can be applied to most major repairs undertaken by a strata corporation. It focuses, however, on the most frequent cause of damage ¡ª water penetration of the walls. Throughout this manual, you will be introduced to the concepts and vocabulary of many specialized areas of knowledge. The appendices include information summaries that may be photocopied and used as handouts for strata unit owners.
