"This biennial publication presents a large selection of results of the OECDsurveys on resources devoted to R&D in Member countries,as well as information on the technology balance of payments. Previous editions included basic data on patents; these series are now published in Main Science and Technology Indicators (MSTI) and no longer included in BSTS.
There are 19 tables per OECD country for the latest seven years for which data are available. These cover:
Resources devoted to R&D (e.g. expenditure by type of costs, by source of funds, type of R&D, etc.; personnel by occupation, formal qualification, etc.) at national level by sector of performance; furtherd etailed breakdowns are proviced for two of the R&D performing sectors: for the business enterprise sector byindustry, and for the higher education sector by major fields of science and technology. "
"How much personnel and money are devoted to research and experimental development (R&D)? This publication provides recent basic statistics on the resources devoted to R&D in OECD countries. The statistical series are presented for the last seven years for which data are available and cover, inter alia, expenditure by source of funds, type of costs, personnel by occupation and/or level of qualification, at national level by performance sector, for enterprises by industry, and for higher education by field of science.
