Final Contest Procedure
General
The final competition includes presentation and demonstration sessions. The on-site evaluation committee is composed by PC members and professional attendants of ICWS. In the presentation session, each team has 30 minutes for presentation and questions. In the demonstration session, the teams demo their systems via Internet connection. Both sessions are attended by the evaluation committee, as well as general public.
Time and Schedule
- Please use the posted conference program on the ICWS Web site for date, starting time, and location.
- Time will be precisely controlled.
- Be sure to make your demo system running online when the demo session starts.
Presentation Session
- The presentation session is organized like a conference session where one or multiple authors present their paper in about 20-25 minutes with about 5-10 minutes for questions and answers. The time used for each team will be strictly controlled.
- ICWS normally asks the authors to upload slides on a provided laptop. Presentations are video-taped. It is recommended to use the provided laptop in order to save time to switch between laptops. Please consider converting your slides into pdf for better effect.
- Since we have a demo session, the paper presentation should focus on technical depth and significant contributions rather than on demonstrating your implementation.
Demo Session
- The conference provides a demonstration workplace for each team. A workplace has a table, several chairs and a stand for displaying a poster. Internet connection is provided.
- A team uses one laptop of its own for demonstration. It is required that the system should be accessible using a common Web browser. No extra equipment, such as projectors and additional screens, are provided or allowed for demonstration. If an application needs special equipment, it needs to be evaluated and approved on case by case basis.
- The size of the poster is roughly 34in*44in (or A0).
- The demonstration evaluation committee members have 3 hours to check the demos. Conversations with the team members and hands-on operations on the demo systems are expected.
Contest Results
The final results (winners) will be announced at the ICWS closing session.
