We recruit graduate students and postdoctoral researchers on an ongoing basis. The general themes of our current research involve nonlinear dynamics, surface waves and mechanical metamaterials. If you are interested in joining the WAVE Lab at Concordia, send us an email. We are happy to hear from prospective undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral researchers, as well as visiting students and researchers.
An immediate opening is available for a PhD project on footstep noise isolation in timber buildings.
There is also the possibility of doing a research project on the physics of musical instruments.
Concordia undergrads: Contact us if you are interested in doing a research project: honours project (ENGR 412), summer internship (16 weeks), grad school. We can also discuss plans for a Capstone project. Examples of previous Capstone projects include 3D printed lattice materials and support structure for a telescope on Canary Islands.
Research projects are often available for students currently enrolled in the M.Eng. program at Concordia (ENGR 6971, 6981, 6991 and 7961). The projects are generally in the area of vibrations, finite element analysis and architectural acoustics. Occasionally, there may be an opportunity to extend the project to a master’s thesis.
