UKCIP - UK Climate Impacts Programme

The UK Climate Impacts Programme (UKCIP) helps organisations assess how they might be affected by climate change, so they can prepare for its impact.

Set up by the Government* in April 1997, UKCIP aims to co-ordinate and integrate an assessment of the impacts of climate change at a regional and national level that is led by stakeholders. This means that our stakeholders or partners commission the research and determine the research agenda, ensuring that it meets their needs. UKCIP provides support and guidance throughout the process for both stakeholders and the researchers, so providing a bridge between the researchers and the decision-makers in government organisations and business.

UKCIP has been the catalyst for a range of regional and sectoral studies into the impacts of climate change.
