Abstract:
Jim Vincent, a senior occupational hygienist with Wardrop Engineering, has investigated mould in 100 public buildings.

Wet gyproc, wet ceiling tiles or wet carpets are clues mould may be present. When moisture is present, pull back the baseboards.

"If mould is growing there, chances are it's growing on the inside cavity of that wall," Vincent said. "If you find mold behind the baseboard, cut a hole in the drywall, pull out the plug and look on the backside. If you find mould there, you keep pulling out the baseboards until you find the end of it."
