Abstract:
A convergence is occurring in the US market as the number of residential and commercial projects with Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) surges, while energy efficiency reemerges as an important design consideration. BIPV applications answer a primary goal of sustainability by reducing pollution and improving the quality of our lives through on-site energy generation. Many groups, both public and private, are pushing energy efficiency for new construction. This action directly benefits the photovoltaic industry since the inclusion of BIPV is a next logical step for energy-conscious consumers. Jesse Henson, Kyocera Solar Inc., reports.
