Abstract:
First generation BIPV systems consisted of PV modules mounted onto privated or commercial buildings using custom-made substructures and fixtures. Second generation BIPV system were systems where PV elements were replacing parts of the building envelope and the partially taking over its function. With the commerical availability of PV elements the third eneration ob BIPV systems uses standard building elements, which come with integrated flexible PV modules.
