Postdoctoral Fellows

Diala Naboulsi, Ph.D.

Diala Naboulsi obtained the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from INSA Lyon, France in 2015. As part of a double degree program, she received in 2012 the M.S. degree in Computer Science from INSA Lyon, France and the M.Eng. degree in Telecommunications from the Lebanese University, Lebanon. She has been a visiting Ph.D. student at the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, in 2013. Her research interests cover a variety of aspects in the areas of Cellular Networks, Data Analysis, Vehicular Networks, and Content Delivery Networks. She currently serves as a reviewer for several international journals and conferences.


PhD Students

Abbas Soltanian

Abbas has received his Bachelors in Software Engineering from Tabarestan University, Iran in 2008 and his Masters in Information Technology from Sharif University of Technology, Iran in 2011.  He is Ph.D. student in Information System Engineering at Concordia University, Canada since 2012 and he works on cloud computing and multimedia conferencing applications provisioning in cloud.

Narjes Tahghigh Jahromi

Narjes received her Bachelor’s degree in software engineering from Shiraz Azad University, Iran, and obtained her Master’s degree in Information Technology/Networking from Sharif University of Technology-International Campus, Iran. She is working towards her Ph.D. degree in Information System Engineering at Concordia University, Canada. Her research interests include content delivery networks, cloud computing, NFV and SDN.

Mohammad Abu Lebdeh

Mohammad holds the Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Concordia University, Canada in 2012. He has received his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from
An-Najah National University, Palestine in 2005. He later worked as a Software Engineer for several years.
He started his Ph.D as part of the IMS team in 2013. His work covers Cloud Computing, Network Function Virtualization (NFV), Software-Ddefined Networks (SDN), IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS)
and Evolved Packet Core (EPC).

 

Carla Mouradian

She received her Bachelor’s degree (telecommunication Engineering) from University of Aleppo, Syria in 2009, and obtained her Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Concordia University, Canada in 2014. She is working towards her Ph.D. degree in Information System Engineering at Concordia University. Her research interests include cloud computing, virtualization, and Internet of Things.

Shohreh Ahvar

She received B.S degree in Information Technology and M.S degree in Electrical Engineering-Telecommunication (Networks) both from Isfahan University of Technology, Isfahan, Iran. She is currently a Ph.D candidate at the Institut Mines-Telecom, Telecom SudParis in co-accreditation with the Pierre and Marie Curie University (Paris 6) on the topic of cloud based content delivery networks. She is also a collaborating researcher at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada working on Ericson funded project. Her research interests are Network Function Virtualization, Content Delivery Networks, Cloud computing and Wireless Sensor Networks.

 

Vahid Maleki Raee

Vahid holds the Master's degree in Computer Science, majoring in Computer System and Network in 2015 and the Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciene in 2012 both from University of Malay
(UM), Malaysia.
He started his Ph.D. as part of the IoT team in 2016. His work covers Virtualization, Internet of Things and Cloud Computing.

Sepideh Malektaji

Sepideh Malektaji was born in 1989. She received her B.Sc. degree in Computer Software Engineering from International university of Imam Khomeini . In 2015 she completed her M.S. studies in the field of Computer Architecture in Mohaghegh Ardabili. Curretly she is a Ph.D student in Concordia university. Her current research interests are Computer Networks, Cloud computing, Virtualization, and Machine Learning. 

Marsa Rayani

Marsa is Ph.D. student in Information System Engineering at Concordia University, Canada since 2016 and she works on Information Centric Networking (ICN) and Content Delivery on ICN. She received her Bachelors in Computer Software Engineering in Iran in 2008 and her Masters in Computer Science, Distributed Computing from University Putra Malaysia in 2012.

Sandhya Shanmugasundaram

Deepak Aggarwal

Deepak Kumar Aggarwal holds an B.Tech (2013) in Electronics and Communication from the DAVIET, India and currently doing MASc. in Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering(ECE) at Concordia University, Canada. Nazmul Alam

Mohammad Nazmul Alam holds the BSc degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET), in 2010. He started his working in Advanced R&D team and later moved to Solution Lab in Samsung Research Institute, Bangladesh (SRBD). In 2016 he enrolled into MSc in Computer Science in Concordia to pursue higher education. His work will be covering Cloud Computing, IoT and ICN.

Fatima Ronda

Fatima Zahra Errounda holds a BSc degree in software engineering from Faculte des Sciences et Techniques Hassan II in 2002. She worked for 9 years with C++. She joined the ETS Lab in 2012 for her MSc in Software engineering, she graduated in December 2014. Her work covered Cloud Computing and IoT.

Imran Khan holds a BS degree in Computer Science from COMSATS Institute of IT, Pakistan and a MS degree in Multimedia and Communication from M.A. Jinnah University, Pakistan. He was member of Center of Research in Networks and Telecom (CoReNeT) from 2008 to 2010 and worked on projects funded by French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Internet Society (ISOC), USA. Currently he is a Ph.D. research student at Institut Mines-Télécom, Télécom SudParis jointly with Paris VI (UPMC). He is also a collaborating researcher at Concordia University, Montreal, Canada working on a CISCO funded project with Prof. Glitho. He is student member of IEEE and has also contributed to the IETF standardization. His research interests are Internet of Things (IoT), virtualization, cloud computing, service engineering, and wireless sensor networks.

Jagruti Sahoo, Ph.D.

Jagruti Sahoo received her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science and Information Engineering from National Central University, Taiwan in January 2013. She worked as a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Sherbrooke, Canada from 2013 to 2014. She joined Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engineering, Concordia University as a Post-doctoral Fellow in February 2015. Her research interests include Internet of Things, content delivery networks, Network Functions Virtualization and Software Defined Networking.

Rifat Jafrin

Rifat Jafrin received her bachelor degree (2010) in Computer Science from Military Institute of Science & Technology (MIST), Bangladesh. She completed her MBA degree (2013) in Management Information System from Dhaka University, Bangladesh. She worked as a Senior Executive at Getco Telecom, Bangladesh. She started her Master degree in Computer Science from Concordia University from 2014. She is working in the CISCO project and her research interests are Cloud Computing, Wireless Sensor Network, Semantic Web, and Virtualization.

Ahmad Ferdous Bin Alam

Ferdous holds the Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2008. He later worked as a Software Engineer for 5 years in several
compagnies such as AfriGIS Ltd., Eyeball Networks Inc. and NoveTel Ltd. He led a team of over 10 engineers for 2 years.
He started his Masters as part of the CDN-Multimedia team in 2013. His work covers Cloud Computing, Multimedia Conferencing and Software Architecture.

Mohammad Ali Salahuddin (S’09–M’15) received the B.S. degree in computer science from the University of Karachi, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, in 1999, the M.S. degree in computer science from the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology, Karachi, Pakistan, in 2001, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI, USA, in 2003 and 2014, respectively. His research interests include Wireless Sensor Networks, QoS and QoE in Vehicular Ad hoc Networks (WAVE, IEEE 802.11p and IEEE 1609.4), Internet of Things, Content Delivery Networks, Software-Defined Networks, Network Function Virtualization and Cloud Resource Management. Dr. Salahuddin serves as a Technical Program Committee member and Reviewer for IEEE journals, magazines and conferences.

Peyman TalebiFard, Ph.D.

Peyman completed his PhD and MASc in Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of British Columbia (UBC) in 2014 and 2009. He obtained his BEng at Carleton University in 2006 with high distinction. Scope of his research includes design and analysis of architectures, protocols, and management for wireless and mobile communication systems. He has held research positions at Ericsson Canada, Huawei USA and Mobidia Inc. Canada.
