Title |
Implementation of a microwave beamformer using a four-element microstrip antenna array and a four-way combiner |
Supervisor |
Sebak, A. |
Description |
Recently a new implementation technique for smart antennas and phased arrays has been devised by the electromagnetic group in Concordia. In this project students are involved in the implementation of a smart antenna receiver in cooperation with one of Dr. Sebaks PhD students. Different groups will be working in this project in parallel. In particular, students in this group will implement a four element inset-feed microstrip antenna array with a four-way combiner. Also, through contacting with other groups students will learn about the design steps of a smart antenna receiver and different microwave circuits such as phase shifters and gain control elements. Also, students will learn to work with different commercial software packages such as Agilent ADS and Ansoft HFSS. |
