Work Submission
SUBMISSION DEADLINES MUST BE RESPECTED.
There will be a penalty of 10% of the full grade per day for each of the late reports.
ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR SUPERVISORS FOR EACH OF THE WORK SUBMISSIONS.
REPORT LENGTH LIMIT MUST BE RESPECTED.
Reports must be cocise, and the materials presented must be well selected and well organized.
Information that is not originated from you work for the project MUST BE REFERRED in a correct manner.
Every report must have an abstract.
Use of figures (e.g. block diagrams or flowcharts) is encouraged and the engineering standard of technical drawing should be followed in the preparation of your diagrams or flowcharts.
Phase 1 Report (10-20 pages)
The Phase 1 report is intended to be a project proposal. It should include the description of the following components.
- Project definition and description (Objectives of the project, function of the system to be built and design specifications of the system, potential clients)
- Technical contents of the system (structure, blocks, devices, ...)
- Simulation and test plan (simulation, test, measurement, qualitative and quantitative assessment of the system of your project)
- Work schedule/milestonek to be performed, breakdown project work into manageable tasks allocated to individual group members
- Budget
- Resource requirement
- Communication plan
- Contingency plan
- ...
- Conclusion
- References
The use of block diagrams and flow charts to present your system is encouraged. However, the standard for technical drawings should be followed.
The length of the Phase 1 report is expected to be in the range of 10-20 pages.

Note that this is only a sample that is yet to be completed. The exact format of the report is at your discretion.
For organization, layout, and documentation, please follow the guidelines from the Chapter 2-7 of the Concordia Form and Style Guide. A PDF version of this document is available here in Form & Style.
For groups doing software projects, you are permitted to use the ANSI/IEEE Standard for Software Requirements Specification, in place of the Concordia Form and Style Guide.

Phase 1 Presentation
Time
- This year’s presentations for Phase 1 are scheduled for the week starting on October 16, 2017.
- Each group has to book a time slot that is suitable to the group and the supervisor.
- The booking has to be confirmed with Maria no later than the deadline (to be announced).
