Title |
Biomass Waste to Energy Conversion |
Supervisor |
Drs. P. Pillay and S. Williamson |
Description |
Concordia University generates an enormous amount of waste which must make its way to a landfill. In the landfill, greenhouse gases are generated which contribute to global warming. Instead the waste can be processed on campus to generate heat and power, thus reducing landfill costs and requirements while also generating energy. This project will look at technical issues associated with generating power from waste and integrating a digester into the Hall Building. Examining the energy yield from waste by looking at different pathways for the conversion of the energy is also an important component of the project. |
