Title Adaptive Noise Canceller
Supervisor Drs. M.O. Ahmad and W.P. Zhu, S. Fattah
Description This project is to design a real-life adaptive noise canceller for clear and intelligible calls in mobile telephony.

A major concern for mobile telephony is to ensure reliable, clear and intelligible calls even in the real-life noisiest environment. Ideally for an intelligible call, reduction of noise is necessary in both directions, transmit path and receiving path, enabling both parties to hear clearly all elements of the conversation. In this project, an adaptive noise cancellation scheme will be implemented to reduce noise in both transmitting and receiving paths which is suitable for mobile phone applications. Hands on experiments will be conducted in the real-life noisy environments.
