| Description | Our system will implement speech recognition and interpret user commands to control household appliances (e.g. Television, Sound Systems, etc). The system can also be extended to control electrical devices such as the lighting system and the garage door.� The system consists of a speech recognition box which will be linked to microphones and speakers. The speech recognition system will be speaker independent, although limited to a few keywords. The aim of the project is to build this speech recognition system and to control the main functions of a TV (e.g. Power, Volume and Channels). Once this milestone is achieved, the system can be extended to control other electrical appliances throughout the house. A basic diagram of the system and a visual representation are shown below. |
