Title | Simulation of Gene Regulatory Networks (SimGene)
Supervisor | Drs. Kharma and Varin
Description | We have a number of gene networks that were designed by hand. These networks function as toggle, D-flip/flop and counters. Prior to any implementation of these designs in physical medium (bacteria) , it is advisable that modeling and simulation is done to provide additional evidence of their proficiency. The purpose of this project is to select a given mathematical modeling technique, select or develop associated software, then use the software to simulate the various gene networks. Depending on the simulation results, the gene networks designs may be amended to increase likelihood of correct operation or/and to reduce the genetic load (no. of genes) in any/all networks. |
