Description

Urban Agenda Cafés are created to do good things, to be a great place to work, and be a benefit to the community. Based in Dorval, the café has developed a program where every purchase grows a benevolent fund targeting tree planting and other benevolent endeavours within the community. As part of this initiative, Urban Agenda is asking a group of six to nine students to design and implement an E-Learning Web Application allowing the café to provide its employees with a variety of courses targeting a broad range of interests such as business culture, personal development, hobbies, etc. This platform shall provide employees and other individuals with the tools necessary to develop multimedia courses on a topic of their choice. This web application is to be developed using Microsoft's latest technologies (C#, ASP.NET, ADO.NET Entity Framework, SQL Server 2008, etc). Students will be asked to implement the following functionality in the system for which a detailed requirement document will be provided: - Multimedia Content Management - Course developerâïïïïïïs framework and toolkit - Activity and progress tracking Each feature above will be divided into three layers (Data Access Layer, Business Logic Layer and Presentation Layer). Each layer will allow a subgroup of two or three people to design and implement a given piece of the overall functionality of the system. The group will work under the mentorship and collaboration of a computer engineering alumni who has been developing applications for a variety of businesses throughout the last seven years.
