Title Laser Entertainment Unit
Supervisor Dr. Wei-Ping Zhu
Description Virtual reality is taking place all over the globe; it is being used in schools for teaching, in malls for marketing purposes or even in large companies for walls design. Our project is to make a laser projector that will help us shift into the virtual world. In other words, this projector will be displaying random animated shapes with different colors; for instance, a rotating red square shape will turn into a bouncing purple circle. One more characteristic of this system is that shapes can be projected to any surface (walls, floors, humans, etc.) The animation will be controlled by computer software, and might be affected by a music environment. (If enhancements were to be added during the accomplishment of the project)
Student Requirement Students with good programming skills, students with a good electrical and computer hardware knowledge, and above all, students interested in virtual reality and leaders in the future improvements of technology.
