Title |
Music Score Sheet Image Analysis |
Supervisor |
Dr. Omair Ahmad |
Description |
In the late 19th century, playing pianos existed as mechanical devices, where the pianist read and played music scores from a roll of perforated paper. In this project an automatic analysis for music sheets will be presented, where the proposed system would allow users to insert any readable music score into a scanner from which our software will analyze music characters in every sheet using Digital Image Processing and Pattern Recognition algorithms then convert every sheet into a MIDI file. The MIDI file can be played back by any MIDI compatible device, or can be sent to be played by an array of solenoids placed on a piano and operated by a micro-controller. |
