Supervisor |
Dr. A. Rathore |
Description |
Designing a voltage source inverter and motor control system for an electric race car. A custom solution would enable optimization of the drivetrain, allow for more flexibility regarding component placement and also offer expandability into the design for future additions. |
Student Requirement |
•Power Supply: 300V Battery pack (Designed and supplied by SAE Concordia)
•Motor: Emrax 208 Axial flux synchronous permanent magnet motor (Supplied by SAE Concordia)
•Speed control via dual potentiometer setup (redundant system)
-Control feedback via incremental encoder (RM44IE002D010F2F10 supplied by SAE Concordia)
•IP or NEMA Rated enclosure.
|
Tools |
• Starting and stopping the motor (closed loop system)
• Speed regulation
• 25-40kW continuous motor power
• 80kW peak motor power (300V 250A)
• CSA Voltage safety regulations
