For our internal needs, a company currently has a mobile app to create recipes and calculate calories automatically. The app uses the Canadian Database of nutritional information to have the nutritional info for all ingredients.
We would like to expose such functionality for free, to allow users to create their own recipes, and standardize them the same way we do. By default all recipes would be public, and users can browse existing recipes that way. We may want to open-source our own recipes and expose them too! Later and if time permits, we can dig into premium paid features, such as private recipes.
The list of features (i.e. create recipe, create ingredient, import recipe, browse/search existing recipes, etc....) and the overall design for the PWA would be discussed at the beginning of the project.
The front-end framework would also be chosen at the beginning of the project. The back-end is currently in C# / ASP.NET core with an SQL database, and would likely need to be forked or modified to support multiple users with their own recipes.
