Description |
Using the software Medici, students are expected to design a heterostructure field effect transistor (HFET) in the polar quaternary AlInGaN/GaN system. The project involves extensive analytical analysis of the polarization charge in these so-called heterostructure (which can be done in MATLAB environment), in addition to numeric-based design/simulation of HFETs with the goal of enhancement-mode operation (employing Medici). |
Student Requirement |
Familiarity with MATLAB programming. Familiarity with the physics of semiconductor devices at the level of ELEC421 and understanding electrostatics and energy band diagrams are pivotal. |
