Title Simulation-based formulation of design guidelines for enhancement-mode operation of FETs in the quaternary AlInGaN/GaN system

Description Using the software Medici, students are expected to design a heterostructure field effect transistor (HFET) in the polar quaternary AlInGaN/GaN system. The project involves extensive analytical analysis of the polarization charge in these so-called heterostructure (which can be done in MATLAB environment), in addition to numeric-based design/simulation of HFETs with the goal of enhancement-mode operation (employing Medici).
Student Requirement Familiarity with MATLAB programming. Familiarity with the physics of semiconductor devices at the level of ELEC421 and understanding electrostatics and energy band diagrams are pivotal.
