Title Implementation of Electronic Controls on the Concordia Formula SAE Race Vehicle

Description The goal of this project is to design, build, and implement certain electronic controls for previously manually controlled systems - namely, the Clutch, and the Throttle - on the Concordia Formula SAE Race Car.
Student Requirement Students that are a part of this project require the knowledge acquired from the following courses: • ELEC 273 • ELEC 311 • ELEC 242/342 • ELEC 372 • COEN 243/244 • COEN 311 • COEN 313 • ENGR 201 • ENGR 213 • ENGR 371 Additionally (and optionally), knowledge pertaining to the following categories would be beneficial: • The different categories of motors, and their controls. Familiarity with general automobile terms and components, performance and race automobile knowledge, and motorsports topics. • Mechanical system design, and manufacturing.
Tools Soldering tools, power supplies, DMMs, Oscilloscopes, other miscellaneous electrical tools. Mills, lathes, miscellaneous other mechanical tools.
