Ebike Conversion Kit |
Supervisor |
Mohsen Ghafouri |
Description |
The description of the project is as follows:
1. Delivering a kit that effectively converts a conventional bike into an electrical bike
2. Establishing a connection between the electrical bike to a phone/device with a GUI
to display ride statistics such as Avg. RPM, Max. RPM, Avg. Watts, Max. Watts,
Distance, Estimated Calories, and Duration of ride.
3. Delivering a GUI Interface that facilitates the view and manipulation of the ride
statistics.
4. Delivering an application on the user’s phone that displays further details such as
the history of previous rides, GPS navigation, and summary of ride on the map.
5. Establishing a collision prevention protocol (using FMEA and other tools) to ensure
the safety of the user. Collision prevention consists of slowing the bike down when
an unsafe distance is triggered or automatically enabling the brakes and
maintaining speeds depending on environmental conditions (e.g. gravel vs. paved
roads).
6. Taking into consideration the different road conditions
7. Establishing a solar/ trickle charge feature for the bike to increase range of bike
usage
8. Designing and building the controller |
