Title UI Design for Biomechanics Analysis Tool for Assessing Shoulder Range of Motion
Supervisor H. Rivaz, T. Fevens (CSSE)
Description This project is focused on the UI design of a tool aimed at tracking and assessing a subject range of motion for their shoulder. Analyzing shoulder movement would aid a surgeon to determine the severity of, for example, Hill-Sachs lesions/injuries and whether surgery is required to restore functional range of motion. The AI component would leverage publicly-available pose estimation software, available using either a depth sensor or a smartphone, to analyze video sequences to estimate 3D human poses and model the shoulder motion. The current project involves designing a user-friendly interface to use of this AI tool by clinicians, trainers, and athletes.
The UI design should focus on providing an intuitive, interactive, and visually appealing experience. It must allow users to easily upload and analyze videos, view 3D keypoint data, and understand risk assessments generated by the AI model. Additionally, the interface should include features to highlight anomalous movement based on the analysis results.
Problem statement: This project is focused on the user-friendly UI design of a tool aimed at assessing the biomechanical motion of the shoulder for use by clinicians, trainers, and athletes.
