Abstract

This paper summarizes the results of an intensive research project on high spatial resolution measurements of instantaneous pressure distributions on a range of buildign models. Both mean and unsteady pressure gradients were extracted and analyzed in a variety of fashions. The buildings modelled were 60, 40, and 20 m in hiehgt, and 40 m by 20 m in plan. Key results are presented, together with a proposed scheme for venting and compartmentalization of building walls to pressurize the compartments where advantageous and minimize the negative effects of spatial gradients.
