Abstract:
Knowledge of the spectral irradiance distribution of pulsed solar simulators is an important issue when photovoltaic devices of different technologies are measured and compared. IEC standard 904-9 prescribes that solar simulator's spectral distribution matches the reference spectral irradiance to within ¡À 25 % to be classified as a class A simulator. This paper presents the experimental set-up, measurement problems and preliminary results on a set of spectral irradiance measurements made on two pulsed solar simulators used at ESTI for characterization and calibration of photovoltaic devices.
